The 2026 Winter Warmer Lunch is to be held in the Club House at the Brooklands Museum, Brooklands Road, Weybridge, Surrey, KT13 0SL on Sunday 8th February - Note new date. The price is £75 per head which includes a ‘sit-down’ set lunch (a welcome drink, three courses, coffee and truffles) and also free entry to the museum for all those attending.
For many years the home of Motor Racing in England, the purpose-built banked oval circuit was constructed in 1907. Racing there finished in 1939 and most of the track has now disappeared because of development. The museum includes some banking, race cars (both pre and post WW2), aircraft including Concorde, a bus museum and much more.
So why not arrive early (the gates open at 10 am) and take a stroll around this historic venue and some of its many and wonderful historic car and aircraft related exhibits before lunch and make a full day of it.
In addition, the VSCC are holding their Spring Driving Tests throughout the day, with a variety of pre-war cars tackling a series of courses around the site - more details here.
Advance bookings only (sorry you can’t just ‘rock up’ on the day). To secure tickets please email john@jwwatson.net Include number of places required at £75 per head payable with your name and address, telephone number and any special dietary requirements.

Clive Chapman is very sorry to announce that the Classic Team Lotus Garden Party 2026 will not take place after all.
‘The main reason for the decision is that 2026 has developed into an especially busy year for Classic Team Lotus, so much so that the Garden Party is just too much for us to manage to the standard we expect. I realise this will disappoint many people. First and foremost, I must apologise to all those who have purchased tickets and made plans.’
‘I am grateful to all those who have supported the Garden Party this year and previously and can only hope that they will excuse me for this difficult decision.’

Richard Hinton will again be organising the Annual Historic Lotus Register Summer Gathering and Picnic on Sunday 21st June 2026.
This friendly informal event is open to Lotuses of all ages, and takes place in East Hertfordshire, between Standon and Bishops Stortford. As before, food and drink will be available, or you can bring your own.
The event in 2025 was attended by over 100 Lotus cars plus a few other classics and 150 people. There's a video of the event here. If you are interested, please put the date in your diary, and email Richard Hinton, who will add you to his mailing list for updates on the event.
